Almond buds is an eclectic mix of musical styles brought together in an exciting alternative rock quartet. From Coreys 80's new wave and 90's pop rock, John's hair metal background, Austin's R&B and gospel roots, and David's classical vocal training, Almond Buds has developed its own distinctive sound.
•Corey Knoblich - Guitars - Corey grew up in North Dakota on a steady diet of country and western music. Deciding that small town life wasn't for him he moved to Minneapolis and became a fixture in the underground music scene there. After a downward spiral that ended at a detox center, Corey gave his life to Christ. Not long after Corey moved to Seattle to attend ministry school at Dominion College where he earned pastoral and worship leader certificates.
•David Parnell - Vocals - David discovered his love of music at a very young age while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his parents. While still in grade school David discovered he was very comfortable performing before large crowds which led to countless singing roles at school and church. After giving his life to Christ at 19, David was worship leader at Cascade Covenant Church for two years and is now an active member of the worship team at City Church in Seattle, Washington.
•Austin Manaway - Drums - Austin is currently the associate band director and drummer at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist church in Seattle Wa., where his father is pastor. Austin has played for several productions including Christmas at Belltown, Soulful sounds of Christmas and the Great Is He Gospel Musical with Neal Jones. Austin has worked as a studio musician for Triad Studios in Redmond, Wa., and Opus 4 Studios in Bothell, Wa.
•John Randall - Bass - Growing up in Oregon John played in several heavy metal bands until at the age of 21 he had enough of the party lifestyle and put down his bass to raise a family. Twenty years later John picked his bass back up and started playing for a local contemporary christian cover band and then later as a member of the worship team at his church, and now for Almond Buds.
The band is currently working on its debut full length recording entitled Giving It Now, which will be released through TMG in spring 2013.
