Describe the band
Busta-Groove is a 9 piece show band consisting of 3 vocalists, 2 horns, and a 4 piece rhythm section. When you see Busta-Groove live you aren't just watching a cover band you are seeing a show. We have a high energy fast paced show with lots of song seques and transitions, cheoragraphy and audience interaction. The band's website is http://www.busta-groove.com and we're based in Hayward, California in the San Francisco bay area.

How long has the band been together?
The band started in 1998 under a different name but became Busta-Groove in 2002.

How did you come up with the concept for the band?
We started out as your typical wedding corporate band but decided 4 years to change the look, music, and vision of the band to more of a hip alternative to the typical wedding corporate band stereotype.

Describe the music you play.
We specialize in Motown, 70's, 80's, 90's and today's hits. We can also provide a jazz set for dinner and cocktail sets.

What drew you towards the music you play?
Bottom line is that when your in cover band you have to play what the people want to hear if you want to work on a consisent basis. It just so happens it's the music I grew up with so I can get into it. Also, you have to keep current with your music because as the couples that grew up in the 80's/90's get married they want to hear the songs they grew up with. My opinion is that the bands who don't keep their the song lists current won't work as much down the line.

Describe your first performances.
Typical stuff...Lots of freebies and low paying club gigs.

What kind of response do you get from your audiences?
The audience reaction has been very positive. We are 4 time winners of Diablo Magazine's Best Band in The East Bay. We get lots of referrals and we're very thankful and appreciative for all the support we've gotten over the past 4 years.

How many vocalists do you have?
We have 2 females and 1 male up front. We also have our trumpet player and keyboard player who come out and lead songs also.

What mixture of originals / covers do you perform?
100% Covers. We may put out some originals on CD in the future.

What is your favorite venue?
Anyplace with a great crowd thats ready to party!

Where is the farthest you have traveled for a gig?
We play in Nevada a lot but we're willing to travel anywhere. So call us!!

What is the craziest thing that has ever happened at a gig?
We've seen some things that you can't print on this website!

Have you done any radio or TV performances?
We have performed for Good Evening Sacramento, and for the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors and have been part of their live broadcasts.
